Safari Plans

  • Day 1Nairobi to Masai Mara

    Your tour starts with a pick-up at 7:30 AM from your Nairobi hotel or Airport and a drive to Masai Mara. This drive will take 5 to 6.5 hours, with a scenic stopover at Great Rift Valley.

    • Arrive in Masai Mara shortly after noon, check into your lodge/camp, have a hot lunch, and then depart for an afternoon game drive.
    • After the game drive, we head back to the lodge/camp to reach it by around 5:30 or 6:00 PM. We freshened up and enjoyed a freshly prepared dinner. Overnight at your lodge.
  • Day 2Masai Mara

    Today’s itinerary is flexible. You can discuss the previous evening with your guide and plan today’s schedule.

    • You can have a relaxed breakfast, depart for full-day game drives around 9:00 AM with a packed lunch, and return to the lodge late afternoon around 6:00 PM. Or you can leave at 6:00 AM on an early morning game drive (This is the best time to see the animals and an excellent chance to witness hunt/kill).
    • Later, return to accommodation for breakfast, relax, and depart on an afternoon game drive with a packed lunch.
    • You will stop at a picnic spot for a packed lunch and later depart on a game drive until the park is closed. Around 6:00 PM, I returned to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
  • Day 3Masai Mara to Nairobi

    After a relaxed breakfast, head back to Nairobi. Upon reaching Nairobi in the evening, you will be dropped off at the airport or hotel.

    • Depending on your interest you can choose to hit the rapids and flip over or choose a moreless adventure trip.

  • How should we dress for the cultural village visits?

    Wear modest, comfortable clothing that covers shoulders and knees as a sign of respect. Light, breathable fabrics are recommended. Avoid flashy jewelry and consider bringing a hat/sunglasses for sun protection during outdoor activities.

  • What health precautions are required for primate encounters?

    REQUIRED VACCINATIONS: Yellow Fever (certificate required), COVID-19 recommended, Hepatitis A & B recommended, Typhoid recommended, CRITICAL RULES DURING TRACKING: 7m minimum distance (gorillas), No coughing/sneezing toward primates, Wearing masks is optional but encouraged, No access if actively sick.

  • What's the best time of day/year to visit the National Park ?

    The park is open year-round with distinct advantages each season: BEST VIEWING TIME: Early morning (6:30-10am) best for predator sightings, Late afternoon (3:30-6pm) best for waterfall photography.

  • Are the cultural experiences suitable for children?

    Absolutely! Children particularly enjoy the interactive elements - dancing, drumming lessons, and sweet treats making. We adjust activities based on group composition, and villagers are exceptionally welcoming to young visitors.
